I had a feeling that something would go awry today do to the fact that the initial launch site by the Luxor was right next to McCarran and that the winds were going to blow it in that direction but I still went after it. The launch site for Mass Effect 3 Las Vegas was just off the road near the M hotel with the winds blowing it south east.

The final resting destination for the games was at a town in Arizona called Golden Valley. Since there is little to no service out there it was hard for everyone to track, even for the people who were in charge of the whole thing. It took the official balloon trackers a couple of hours to actually find the thing and bring it back to Golden Valley.
While they were off hiking to retrieve the games everyone else, including me, where running around the desert in search of the games at supposed locations that varied from time to time.
At about 6:00 PM they just called all of the searchers to one place and did a lottery to see who gets them. It was a great concept to launch the game high into the atmosphere but poor execution, partially due to the wind, FAA regulations and rules, having to find new launch sites, and best of all unhappy residents with shotguns in Golden Valley.
I had fun for a while searching for it but when I heard that they had found it and that they’re going to do a lottery to decide the winners it kinda killed the adrenaline.
 Possible out come for tomorrow 0-2 so far Bioware and EA let’s see if you can get New York right or else you’re going to have some more unhappy people who spent hours looking for the landing site.
For those of you wondering on when the Paris launch is going to happen I hate to break it to you but it won’t be happening. I can’t find why but when I do I’ll let you know. [Heard it had to do with some local laws or more air space issues.]

Ya, the lottery definetly killed all the fun. As I said at the actually give away I drove 500 miles for a copy. 300$ in gas and more to pay for up ahead…. I can say I am extremely disappointed that that is how the contest went down. Anyway, I get it wasn’t ur guys fault that there was no cell reception, and that the wind went crazy yesterday, so thanks for sticking with it to the end. Truly, I know it must have been hard to go trek out to the desert for over an hour.
At least it was sort of a fun excursion, and even though I didn’t win either, I met some really nice people.
