My Journey North to the Sanctum on Minez

My Journey North to the Sanctum on Minez

Many of you have heard of the Sanctum in Minez that lies in the north and that it holds great riches and items that can’t be obtained anywhere else so what I decided to do is to trek out to the Sanctum and see what it’s all about. The first time I went out I died before reaching the Sanctum because I underestimated the amount of food, water, and general supplies that I needed to take with me to reach the Sanctum but the second time I made it with some to spare.

Before I took off to the far north I stopped in many towns to stock up on supplies that I would need to help me make the trip without dying from hunger, thirst, and injuries. My first focus was on food because in Minez the hunger bar gets depleted faster than usual. Whenever I make a trip north I dedicate at least 16 empty slots to food because you can never have too much food when going on a trip. My second focus was on water because dehydration sneaks up on players who aren’t prepared and don’t take the necessary amounts of water needed.

Before I left the town of Portsmouth I ended up getting 9 bottles of water to take with me which would turn out to be a good thing because there were times where I nearly died of dehydration. My last focus was armor and weapons because without them you’re going to die really fast. Chainmail armor is probably the best one to take up with you because it’s easy to find and it’s more durable than leather armor. Bow and arrows are great for picking off zombies that you don’t want to go hand to hand with. The sword is a player’s most valuable asset and without it they will be defenseless against a rushing zombie or player so any sword that is above a wooden sword will do when fighting up north.

My Inventory after looting towns

As I set off I met another player who wanted to tag along with me to enter the Sanctum so we went as a pair to fight anything that came at us. As we wondered we stumbled across a little village in a snow biome which was called Ridgevale. Here we stalked up on food and swords before we made our way to a town he called Mclovin which I had never heard of before so I thought it would be good to go check it out.

Upon arrival to Mclovin we discovered that it didn’t have much to offer and the chests there were scarce so at dawn we left to find new places. While walking through the snow biome we came across Whitehaven which turned out to be a good find because it allowed us to stalk up on depleted resources. Soon after our arrival a straggler brought a hoard into our building and at that moment we decided to leave Whitehaven before we got killed.

After running away from the hoard and healing each other with bandages and shears we came to a castle that was in ruins and it turned out to be Devil’s Castle which once again was a bust for both of us. Sad news came after we left the castle because we were rushed by a few waves of zombies that took out my friend and left me with the task of avenging his death, getting to the Sanctum, and seeing what was inside of the closed doors.

After the death of my partner I ventured off course and ended up at a camp, which was called Camp Kharj, that was near the worlds limits and for the third time was a bust when it came to chests that had good items to loot.Once I was done with Camp Kharj I fell down a canyon wall and ended up at the bottom of a very steep canyon and I thought that it was over right then and there.

Thankfully I came across an abandoned farm which had a ton of food to eat like apples and watermelons so I gorged myself and then stalked up on as much food as I could carry so that I wouldn’t die while looking for a way out. While walking around I found a way up to the top of the canyon which lead me to a lava lake that had a floating castle in the middle of it.

Naturally I was ecstatic because I thought that I had discovered a place that had the mythical items of the north but I soon discovered that I had been trolled and left with nothing. Once I left the floating troll castle I went straight to the Sanctum to test my luck on the obstacles it had inside of it.

YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!!

I entered the Sanctum and was greeted with a friendly message of death which made me feel great. The first test isn’t really a test but it requires you to give up four items to open an iron door to advance through. After the door opened you are faced with a basic jumping puzzle to get to the leap of faith that takes you below the Sanctum.

Time to sacrifice

Before you jump down the hole be sure to remember the pattern on the sign that will be located behind you. Once I dropped down I was faced with a maze that goes two ways and if you want to advance to the next part go to the right.

After the maze I was given another jump obstacle which leads to a lava jump puzzle that would result in my demise. Sadly I am not the best at jumping challenges and I almost made it to the end before I clipped the block and burned alive. On the plus side my zombie didn’t survive either. I have no idea what lies beyond the iron door after the jumping puzzle and hopefully it’s something great.
